The Black Arts Leadership Alliance (BALA) was formed out of a need to support the passionate and driven individuals that help make the arts a reality in our communities. It is comprised of a group of professionals across all facets of a nonprofit arts organization (Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, Fundraising, Education & Community Engagement, and Programming).

Black Arts Leadership Alliance is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our Arts Organization is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of our society’s biggest challenges. We make sure our partners are empowered by creating opportunities for individuals and communities.
MENTORSHIP & SUPPORT
With this initiative, our goal is to serve as a network for each other. Support is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies to encourage personal growth and development.  With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential.
RECRUITMENT & RETENTION
We are dedicated to helping to diversify all levels of administrative staff in the arts. We are consistently stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. We are always striving to make a difference.
OUTREACH
We provide community engagement opportunities to create experiences where Black people feel connected and a sense of belonging.
