BALA BOARD
TYRONE BEASLEY (HE/HIM/HIS)
Tryone is the Artistic Director at Nebraska Shakespeare. He previously served as the Artistic Associate/Director of Outbound Programs at The Rose Theater. He also served as the Artistic Director at The John Beasley Theater in Omaha for ten years. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts from the University of Nebraska Omaha. He attended California State University, Long Beach for graduate study in theater arts. On stage, Tyrone has worked with many acclaimed directors and performed in theaters across the globe.
MALAKHI EASON (HE/HIM/HIS)
Malakhi brings more than 15 years of arts administration experience to BALA. He's the Director of Programming at The International Festival of Arts & Ideas. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Bridgeport and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Grace University. He's working on a Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University. Eason was formerly a background singer for touring artists while living in Los Angeles, CA.
AARON GREGORY (HE/HIM/HIS)
Aaron believes in the power of love and loving people through arts education, community engagement and service. He’s the Community Engagement Specialist at Omaha Performing Arts and a DCE - Dancer, Choreographer, and Educator. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Morehouse College and a Master's degree in Dance Education from NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
DARA HOGAN (SHE/HER/HERS)
Dara is passionate about the performing arts, storytelling and serving the community. She is the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Omaha Community Playhouse. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. On stage, Dara is active in the local theater community.
ALETHA KUHN (SHE/HER/HERS)
Aletha is a lifelong lover of the arts, she is a singer/dancer and graduate of the Detroit High School of Fine and Performing Arts. As the Benefits & Inclusion Administrator at Omaha Performing Arts, Aletha has had the opportunity to work in performance planning and administration. She also has a passion for coaching and mentoring young women.
ANWAR NASIR (HE/HIM/HIS)
Anwar, a Philadelphia native, is the Executive Director of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. He previously served as the Chief Revenue and Advancement Officer for the Omaha Symphony. A former professional dancer, he also brings 15 years of arts administration experience to the group. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication and Rhetorical Studies from Syracuse University.
GENNEAN SCOTT (SHE/HER/HERS)
Gennean is the Chief Diversity Officer at the Broadway League. She previously served as the Director of Human Resources and Vice President of Human Capital and Inclusion at Omaha Performing Arts. Scott has been an advocate for years in emphasizing diversity and creating an inclusive workplace. Scott has volunteered for various Omaha arts organizations.
JORDAN WILLIS (HE/HIM/HIS)
Jordan has devoted his life to the performing arts, both as a performer and advocate. Currently, he is the Marketing Operations Manager at Omaha Performing Arts. He holds a Bachelor of Music in music industry from James Madison University and a Master of Music in violin performance from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
