BALA has four focus areas: recruitment, outreach, professional development, and mentorship.

RECRUITMENT
We serve as a network for individuals to connect them to job opportunities in black arts administration. For employers, BALA serves as a resource to connect talent to organizations.
OUTREACH
We provide community engagement opportunities to create experiences where Black people feel connected and a sense of belonging.


PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
We provide professional development for members through trainings and programs that build awareness and skills in leadership, artistic, and administrative processes. BALA also provides professional development to employers for inclusion and recruitment of diverse candidates.
MENTORSHIP
We provide mentorship opportunities and leadership training for new, mid-level, and senior level professionals.
